Well my aim would be to bring together some of the local dance community in liverpool together with researchers at the University of Liverpool to put on a show. I think a lot of people get turned off from science due to the difficult language that is often used to express it, if you flick through the articles in a scientific journal like nature you’d see what I mean.

I’d really like to see if scientific ideas can be expressed in an entirely nonverbal way. Very few people are actually auditory learners, in fact the vast majority are visual and I think movement would be a great medium for teaching people about science.

For me personally one of the classes I enjoyed most and learnt the most from at A level was biology. The teacher was a former fitness instructor and so emphasised a lot of his points through movement. Some of that has stuck with me and I’d like to capture that again. My mum is heavily involved with the merseyside dance scene and so I think together we could really get something going. I’m not sure exactly where the money would be used but I think either it would contribute towards publicity for the event or as prize money.
