• Question: Do your views on religion effect your views on yours or others scientific theories

      Most of the work I do does not directly deal with religion, like it might if you’re dealing with Big Bang or the nature of the universe. I don’t think my religious views (or lack of them) affect my work very much.

      I don’t think the way I think of religion effects my work at all. There is no cross over or impact, so thankfully generally in my work I don’t need to get dragged into the hole debate

      No. Personally, I’m not religious, but I don’t see a conflict for anybody who is religious. There are some religious beliefs that would clash with science, like if you believed that the earth was only 6000 years old, but most religious scientists are don’t have any problem.

      Mine also. I guess I do have to consider evolution quite a bit. I’m not particularly religious anyway so for me it’s not so much of an issue. My supervisor is a devout Christian however but he is also an excellent researcher. With research it is best to put aside any preconceptions about the experiments you do and take results as what they are. Thats what makes a good scientist I think.
