Light travels at 300,000 km every second in a vacuum. It takes the light from the sun over 8 minutes to reach us.

The speed of light is different in different materials – you can actually slow down the speed of light to the speed of a bike! http://youtu.be/EK6HxdUQm5s

Light travels at 670,616,629.38 miles per hour. This is equivalent to travelling round the world 7 times every second!

I sadly have nothing to add to this really. Though it’d be cool to know what the slowest speed light has been pushed to is.
