I’ve written a whole album of songs about science:

      http://drmartinaustwick.bandcamp.com/album/songs-from-the-scientific-cabaret

The songs are about the journey of Voyager 2 (the probe which travelled to the outer planets of the solar system), what it’s like working as a scientist, the “lumineferous aether” which is a theory Victorian scientists had to explain how light works, Mendeleev (who created the Periodic Table of Elements), Johannes Gutenberg (who invented the printing press), Brownian Motion (what happens when atoms in the air buffet a bit of dust and it jiggles around), Hippasus of Metapontum (a Greek mathematician whose discoveries made other mathematicians so angry that they killed him), the stories of some 20th Century Scientists (Marie Curie, Alan Turing and Alfred Nobel) told as if they were superheroes*, and the story of a doomed love affair between a scientist and a poet.

I have some other sciencesongs too, but I haven’t recorded them or released them yet. Not all of my songs are about science, either. My last song was about the worse first date you could imagine.

*if Peter Parker had been bitten by a radioactive spider in real life, either nothing would have happened or he would have died. So I thought of all the scientists that gave up normal lives to help the world and how you could retell their stories as superhero stories.

Sadly I haven’t written any. I’ve written a few dodgy poems over the years though do they count? I do however right a lot of hard Sci-fi (Science fiction where the science is real, or at least very feasible) in my spare time.
