I love maths, and I’ve always loved seeing how things work. Getting to be a scientist means I get to figure out stuff that nobody has figured out before.

Its interesting, its different and I get to look at things no one in the world has seen before. If I got paid a bit more it would the perfect job.

I get to do a job where I use my brain every day! I have done jobs in the past where that wasn’t really true and I got VERY bored. And I feel as if the things are do are quite personal to me, other people would do this job differently, but the things I do in my job really reflect who I am and what I’m interested in.

I chose to do my phD by influence of a really interesting final year undergraduate project. I basically continued the work I was doing from there.

I guess I just love always learning new things. Taking on a PhD was a great way to do that and be paid at the same time. Honestly I have a terrible attention span and I think in a regular job where I was always doing the same thing I’d get fed up pretty easily.
