Because I love talking to people about science. No seriously I do. I’m paid by the government to do my work. That money comes from taxes paid by your parents. I think you should at least know how it’s being spent right. Public engagement is something that should be given a lot more focus on in the scientific community so I think events like this are great.

I thought it might be fun to see what people thought about science, and if there’s anything useful I could tell people about it.

As Marcus says, we get paid from taxes – so when you’re working, you’ll be paying my wages. The least I can do is a little chat once in a while 🙂

I’d heard good things about I’m a Scientist before, so when I saw that they were looking for people for a quantum zone, I applied. I love getting to talk to people about science and hearing all the questions they come up with. Sometimes the questions are fun and I get to talk about stuff I know, but other times someone will ask a real stumper of a question and I have to go away and investigate.

Plus, if you get to do stuff like this and call it your job, that’s pretty awesome!
